In Ethiopia, like in many other African countries, women play a vital role in agriculture. However, their contributions are largely unrecognized, and they face challenges in accessing resources and community participation.
In the Damascene-2SCALE Partnership, we are working to commercialize the production of spices, an activity mainly done by women. By 2023, the partnership aims to engage 5,000 women in spice production and consequently enhancing their livelihoods. The key to achieving this goal is mobilizing women into cooperatives and strengthening the capacity of these cooperatives to engage in a structured system.
